What is Dabbing?

Before grabbing any Dab Day deals, you may be curious about dabbing. Dabbing involves heating cannabis concentrates and then inhaling the vapor to feel the effects. Concentrates separate the cannabinoids and terpenes to improve potency and flavor. Concentrates will have approximately three times the amount of THC as cannabis flower, upwards of 60%. The concentrates you’ll find at Treasure Valley Cannabis are super potent and will get you in the right mood quickly.

Although concentrates can be added to flower or edibles to increase potency, dabbing involves using a dab rig to heat a “dab” of the concentrate and then inhaling. The rigs work similarly to bongs but are designed for cannabis concentrates instead of flower. Shatter, wax, live resin, and crumble are examples of preferred concentrates used in dabbing.

What is Dab Day?

The term 710 was coined for the holiday since it reads the word “oil” when upside down. Rapper Taskrok suggested the holiday online to expand marijuana celebrations beyond the more recognized 4/20 holiday. He spread the word through his weed-themed raps “7:10” and “Boil That Oil”. The holiday got more mainstream attention when “LA Weekly” profiled 710 in 2013. Today, dispensaries around the country like to take the chance to highlight Dab Day with exclusive 710 weed deals.

Concentrates for Dabbing

The Hidden Grove has a variety of concentrates available that you can use for dabbing. The best dabs for 7/10 include:

  • Waxes: Soft and sticky, waxes are preferred for dabbing since their texture is very malleable. Butane hash oil (BHO) is usually used to make waxes.
  • Batters: Also called budders, batters are made similarly to waxes but will undergo more blending to achieve a whipped texture.
  • Shatters: A solvent-based concentrate, shatters will have a glass-like texture and tend to have a high THC level.
  • Live resins: These concentrates come from fresh flower that is flash-frozen to lock in flavors and terpenes. Live resins don’t use solvents to separate the cannabinoids.
  • Crumbles: Crumbles have a honeycomb appearance and a dry, crumbly texture. They are commonly extracted using a solvent-based process.
  • Sauces: With an oil-like texture, sauces have high terpenes and strong flavor profiles.
