Know Your Grower: Turkey Hollow Cannabis

Posted on October 6th, 2025 to Know Your Grower by

At The Hidden Grove, we believe knowing where your cannabis comes from—and who grows it—makes all the difference. Our Know Your Grower series highlights the local cultivators behind the flower on our shelves: the people who pour their time, talent, and love into every plant.

This month, we’re excited to introduce you to Turkey Hollow Cannabis, a husband and wife owned micro-cultivation business based in Barnard, Vermont

SHOP TURKEY HOLLOW CANNABIS

Tucked away in the valley of Barnard, Vermont, Turkey Hollow Cannabis is a true reflection of small-batch, craft cultivation. Founded in 2022, the Tier 1 indoor grow is owned and operated by Nicholas and Sonia VanDeusen — a husband-and-wife team rooted in gardening, community, and a shared love for the plant. Together, they focus on producing flower, prerolls, and rosin that showcase the very best of Vermont craft cannabis.

From Garden Roots to Cannabis Craft

For owner Nick, his love of cultivation began long before cannabis entered the picture. At just 14, he was tending microgreens for Gourmet Greens, a local organic farm in Chester, Vermont. Those early days instilled a lasting respect for the soil, and a belief in quality over quantity.

Years later, Nick became a medical cannabis patient and cultivator, honing his skills from 2011 to 2018. That hands-on experience shaped his vision for Turkey Hollow: a small, indoor grow where every harvest is cared for with precision and pride. In 2022, alongside Sonia — who brings more than two decades of professional gardening expertise — that vision became reality.

Built on Community

When it came time to bring Turkey Hollow Cannabis to life, Nick turned to a familiar circle of local partners. Having known White River Growpro and The Hidden Grove owners, Stephanie and Kendall, for more than a decade, sourcing supplies through them felt like a natural fit. They have shared endless hours of conversations about cultivation science (and even shared ski slopes with Stephanie’s mother), which laid the groundwork for a collaboration built on trust, experience, and community.

That foundation remains at the heart of Turkey Hollow Cannabis: small-batch, homegrown flower made with deep dedication, a commitment to craft, and the support of Vermont’s cannabis community.

Strains to Know

At The Hidden Grove, we’ve been fortunate to see Turkey Hollow’s passion come to life in their standout genetics.

  • Dirty Taxi – A true head-turner. Testing at 31% THC with over 41% total cannabinoids (including 4% CBG), this cultivar is funky and dank on the nose, yet surprisingly fruit-forward once broken up. Expect an uplifting, focused high that keeps the day moving. “This one is so sticky, we have to keep cleaning the tongs in the deli,” laughs Stephanie from The Hidden Grove.
  • Acapulco Gold – A legendary landrace sativa — one of the original cannabis strains in the world! With THC in the 27–28% range and epic terpene levels of 4.9%, this classic brings a lively, cerebral energy that is great for creative endeavors or a mid-day pick me up.
  • Original Glue – Also known as Gorilla Glue #4 or GG4, this strain is a favorite of our medical patients, delivering a deeply relaxing body high perfect for pain relief and unwinding at the end of a long day.

A Vermont Original

Turkey Hollow Cannabis is more than a brand — it’s a small family business that grows with intention, honors its roots, and leans into community every step of the way. Their flower, prerolls, and rosin are a testament to what Vermont craft cannabis is all about: high quality, grown with care, and full of character.
